Highsense Infotech built manufacturing and distribution software for Medilane Healthcare, covering batch manufacturing records, API and excipient inventory, expiry-driven stock control, and batch-wise distribution traceability down to the stockist.

The problem

Pharmaceutical manufacturing carries record-keeping obligations that general-purpose accounting software simply does not model. A batch manufacturing record has to capture materials, process steps, in-process checks and sign-offs as a single controlled document - and it has to survive audit years later.

Distribution added the harder half. When product moves out to stockists and distributors, you need to know which batch went where. Without that, a recall means contacting everyone and hoping, instead of contacting exactly the parties who received the affected batch.

What Highsense Infotech built

We built the batch manufacturing record as the centre of the system. A production order opens a BMR that captures the API and excipient lots issued, each process stage with its operator and timestamp, in-process quality checks, and final QA release. Product cannot be dispatched until QA release is recorded against that batch.

On the distribution side, every dispatch line carries its batch and expiry. A batch-wise distribution report answers the recall question directly: for any batch, which parties received it, how much, and on what date. Near-expiry stock surfaces on a dashboard while there is still time to act on it.
